“Heart To Heart” By Lexie Wallace, my sister and Nick’s Picks CFO
Recently my sister, Lexie, created an amazing painting pertaining to Donate Life. At First, I couldn’t believe that she painted this, when I learned that it was her work I was astonished.
Lexie has always been such a big part of my life and I really don’t know what I would do without her. She was always there for me. Her painting is of two inseparable bodies joined by one heart.
The puzzle pieces in the background represent “Puzzle People”, a term that Dr. Starzl, the man who is responsible for the first ever successful liver transplant, coined. The two people inside the larger heart symbolize a person transferring part of their puzzle piece and the other person gaining their new puzzle piece and their new life.
Every waking moment I am thankful for being the puzzle person that I am.
